2. JOB AIMS & OBJECTIVES

As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our premises by denying, deterring, and delaying hostile surveillance and potential threats. You will be responsible for maintaining a vigilant and proactive presence while providing a high level of customer service to clients and visitors..

2.1 PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Access Control: Monitor and control access to the premises. Verify the identity of individuals seeking entry and enforce security protocols.
  • Patrol and Surveillance: Conduct regular patrols to deter and detect security breaches. Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems.
  • Incident Response: Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, including disturbances, emergencies, and alarms. Follow established protocols for escalation and resolution.
  • Patrol and Inspection: Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter criminal activity and ensure the security of the area. Inspect security equipment and report any issues.
  • Hostile Surveillance Detection: Monitor and identify signs of hostile surveillance, unusual behaviour, or potential threats. Recognize and respond to suspicious activities promptly and effectively.
  • Customer Service: Interact with clients, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner. Provide assistance, directions, and information as needed.
  • Update Security Log with activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences
  • Emergency Response: Act quickly and decisively in the event of an emergency, such as a security breach, fire, or medical incident. Follow established emergency response procedures.
  • Incident Reporting: Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities during shifts. Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports.
  • Conflict Resolution: Resolve conflicts or disputes that may arise on the premises in a professional and de-escalatory manner.
  • Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with fellow security personnel, supervisors, and emergency services as required.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other security officers to ensure seamless security operations.
  • Training and Development: Stay updated on security procedures and best practices. Participate in training sessions and continuously improve your skills and knowledge.
